Looking forward…

To whom this may concern,

My heart, again, it learns -

It’s not the pain torturing me,

but the battle scars I’ve earned.

I see memories in my cereal.

And reminders late at night.

I smell the fragrances of your promises that never felt quite right.

I paint pictures in my head,

I’m not sure where they’re from -

Not the past for I would remember

So it’s the future that they come.

Vivid in their colour,

my favourite shade and hue.

The silhouette, however, I do not have a clue.

Ambiguity at its best,

Novelty in my sight,

Encrypted masterpiece -

To be revealed when the time is right.
