You’ll never be what you once were to me,

I stare gracefully into the horizon.

The peaks and valleys of our bond

Broken over words misspoken.

You’ll never be what I wanted you to be,

I mimic the lies you created.

They provide a sweet escape to the reality that was chosen,

Promising a life the present is withholding.

You’ll never again feel the depth of my heart and for that, I feel fortune.
