A Piece of Mine for Peace of Mind
Lbena T-Michael
I can really paint a picture worth a thousand words,
But truly I don’t have any left—
Mid conversation, I guess you didn’t have any.
Do I really choose peace, or just what's easy for me?
I mean,
In my darkest hours, I feel the most pity,
Painful pleas of pity, begging, "Please don’t forget me."
When you consider peace of mind.
I’ll give you a piece of mine,
But you don’t want that from me.
My two cents’ not worth a dime.
You see, there’s a fine line between you and I,
So you don’t hear me clearly,
You see me different,
The words are blurry.
Ego is your state of mind—
No wonder there’s this line:
Ego is your state of mind.
I pray to God there’s still hope for thee,
Pride or prejudice—
Your pride is prejudice,
Your words are tough,
But they’re lacking emphasis.
I mean,
I’d be surprised if you find relief.
In our silence, I’ll take a pause for peace.
